Try as they will, and try as they might, who steals me gold won't live through the night...the Leprechaun is back, and this time he's...not so Leprechaun-y.

Lionsgate just released the first look at our new Leprechaun - see if you agree with my verdict.

I mean, he looks pretty cool - and there's a Celtic cross in the background for some Irish flavor - but it's hardly consistent with the look of the classic Leprechaun.

This is NOT a complaint, you guys. Just a comment - I freakin' love these movies, and I guess a new look could be kinda cool.

Here are some things the new Leprechaun looks like: an Iron Maiden cover, early CGI from the Harry Potter series, the skull of one of our Neolithic ancestors after marinating in a bog for thousands of years, some kind of 90's toy with the word 'ooze' on the packaging, some Warhammer fanart.

Here are some things the new Leprechaun does not look like: A Leprechaun.

Regardless, I LOVE this silly, messed-up, comedy-horror series and will be watching Leprechaun: Origins the very moment it's released - August 26th VOD, September 30th DVD/Blu.
