Christopher Nolan's Interstellar is one of the most anticipated films of 2014, especially among Sci-Fi and cinema fans. Christopher Nolan is one of the few director's in Hollywood who's name carries weight and is the reason why you go see his films in theaters, no matter what. The only other two directors I can think of that carry that name recognition right now are Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese.

Never mind that Nolan has an AMAZING cast for Interstellar. His leading man is the hottest actor in Hollywood right now Matthew McConaughey, fresh off an Academy Award winning performance and the amazing [True Detective](series:755331). Also starring in the film are Jessica Chastain, Anne Hathaway, Ellen Burnstyn, Michael Caine (Nolan regular), Casey Affleck, Topher Grace, John Lithgow, and Matt Damon.

Indeed, excitement for the film was increased by McConaughey and Nolan's first ever appearance at the San Diego Comic Con yesterday. Of course, in typical Nolan fashion, little was revealed about the details of the film, and little has been revealed. In this day and age of social media and instant news, Nolan has done a tremendous job keeping his projects under wraps. This includes help from his crew and actors keeping it under wraps as well.

Here's what's known about the plot of the film: When a wormhole (which theoretically can connect widely-separated regions of spacetime) is discovered, explorers and scientists unite to embark on a voyage through it, transcending the limits of human space travel. Among the travelers is a widowed engineer (McConaughey) who has to decide to leave behind his two children to join the voyage to another galaxy with the goal of saving humanity.

The only character name we know is that McConaughey's character is called Cooper. However, I wanted to focus on Jessica Chastain's role, especially in the trailer.

The father and daughter relationship is the main crux of the second trailer, as well as the space travel. We only see Chastain once in the second trailer. She's in the middle of a burning corn field, her back is turned to us and we see the side of her face. She appears to be in distress, wondering, and longing for someone's return. Could it be that Chastain is actually McConaughey's daughter in the film and her scene takes place 20+ years in the future? Notice the jacket she's wearing? Looks an awful lot like the one McConaughey's Cooper is wearing earlier in the trailer. Is McConaughey lost in space or a wormhole and she's wondering if he will ever come back?

I'll admit, I didn't notice this at first. I read an article on the Huffington Post that apparently confirms this is true. In the article, The Wrap's Jeff Sneider apparently got confirmation from Paramount on this speculation.

This was also confirmed in IGN's review/analysis of Interstellar Trailer 2.

Another speculation is that much, if not all of what is shown on Earth in the second trailer, happens really early on in [Interstellar](movie:813746). While this could be seen as spoilerish, I think this adds even more intrigue to Nolan's Interstellar, and which actors are playing which characters. Is Casey Affleck (also seen in trailer 2) McConaughey's son? How much will Nolan play with time and setting?

Interstellar is scheduled to be released in theaters in November 2014. It will be released in Belgium, France, and Switzerland on November 5, 2014 and will be released in additional territories in the following days, including the United Kingdom on November 6, 2014 and North America (United States and Canada) on November 7, 2014.
