I'm a Fan Theorist. I give ridiculous predictions for movies and TV shows. I'd like to call them "Ridictable Theories"!

I am a huge Locke & Key fan. So when I heard in 2011 that they were adapting one of my favorite graphic novels into a TV show, I was excited to see the characters jump from the pages and into the screen of my computer or TV. I was even more excited to see the trailer for the pilot episode that Fox put out. I mean even the intro music for the trailer caught my attention!

Side note: If you know the name of the song from that trailer please let me know!

Once Fox cancelled it, I was devastated. I was afraid that Joe Hill's characters would never get the TV show treatment like Robert Kirkman did with The Walking Dead. Then my hope was rekindled when I heard that Universal was going to try to adapt it into a trilogy! Producers of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and the TV show Sleepy Hollow Alex Kurtzman and Robert Orci are in the works of making Locke & Key. So if you've enjoyed watching both of those, then expect Locke & Key to be even better! Word has it that they have a screenwriter already picked to get this rock rolling, but as for the cast of the characters, it is still up in the air. With that being said, I have decided to make a list of actors and actresses who would be perfect for the roles depicted in the graphic novels.

First off I think we should have Elden Hansen play Tyler Locke. You might remember him as Fulton Reed from The Mighty Ducks and Lenny from The Butterfly Effect. He would be perfect because of his background playing a troubled youth. We can see that from not just The Mighty Ducks but also from The Mighty as Maxwell Kane. Plus having a taste of horror/thriller from "The Butterfly Effect" adds to his resume.

Next we've got John Goodman to play Tyler's father Rendell. Not only does he look the part, but he can portray the father figure quite nicely in this type of movie. Plus he's Walter! I mean c'mon!

The mother of Tyler would be played by Sarah Wayne Callies AKA Lori Grimes from "The Walking Dead". Not just because I'm a Walking Dead Fan, but also she looks the part, and can obviously play the part of a mother trying to keep her sanity and her family together.

Speaking of "The Walking Dead" I think Chandler Riggs AKA Carl would be perfect in playing Tyler's younger brother Bode(I believe it is pronounced like "humble aBODE"). He is young enough and he would add to the horror feel with killing walkers under his belt.

Adding to the Locke siblings is Kinsey, the middle child, who will be played by Natalie Dormer. In "Game of Thrones" she has dealt with a lot of bloodshed which I think has prepared her to face even more in "Locke & Key".

Next on the list would be Niel Patrick Harris to play Rendell's brother Duncan. He's had his taste for evil playing Dr. Horrible and being the lovable character Barny in "How I Met Your Mother". Needless to say, I think him being in the "Locke & Key" trilogy would be Legen... wait for it... Dary!

The other character on this list is kind of an anti-hero in my book, Sam Lesser. I think Eric Christian Olsen should play Sam. Again most of these actors I've picked are based on their similar looks from the graphic novels, but I also focus on their background in film to see if they can pull it off. Olsen was recently in a horror flick "The Thing(2011)", and he did an awesome job in transition from the comedy "Hot Chick" and the previously mentioned horror. I believe it's safe to say that he is up for the challenge.

And last, the enemy itself Dodge! In the graphic novels, Dodge is first introduced as a girl then later on(SPOILER ALERT) takes on the form of a guy. Needless to say, Dodge will be played by two people.
Starting with the female version, Dodge/Echo will be played by Jodelle Ferland. She has had her share of being in horror movies, so being in Joe Hill's adaption will be just a walk in the park. She was in "Silent Hill", "Case 39" and "The Cabin in the Woods"... yeah... I think she can do horror!

Now the male version would have to be played by a guy that looks like the female... almost like twins. I've chosen Ed Westwick. I recognized him from playing Tybalt from the 2013 "Romeo & Juliet", he played an awesome and believable villain in my opinion and has potential to be the ultimate villain in "Locke & Key" as Dodge!

I shared this list with Joe Hill himself on Tumblr and asked a few questions such as if he had a say on who would play who for his characters. This is what I got in return:

So what do you think? Who should play the characters in the Locke & Key trilogy before the casting is "locked"?
