Now, the flash has taken center stage for DC-TV at San Diego Comic Con 2k14 but Arrow has not been cast aside. Warner Bros. has released a teaser trailer for the upcoming season, which will air this fall, and to be honest it looks amazing! Now, here is the teaser.
Warning! This is chock full of spoilers. If you rather wait till this fall then avoid watching this video.
It's getting real.
It opens with us half way through the previous season (Season Two): The whole once you let darkness inside of you, it never comes out. This just might be a hint at the plot for Season 3, sounds very dark not that the tone of the show wasn't dark already, but this could mean it's going to get "darker'.
Then comes the adrenaline rush of a recap of most of the pivotal moments from Season 2, including the surprising death of Moira Queen in episode 20 of the previous season. Felicity tells Ollie that he will never give up his fight, and see Slade's ultimate capture and the return of Malcolm Merilyn (one of my fave Arrow villains), not before the trailer actually kicks in.
The above picture could mean that Roy will finally come into his own and become Arsenal, which is pretty sweet! To be honest the costume while matching the Arrow's green costume, it still looks pretty amazing. Who doesn't like Red on Black eh? With that being said, I can't wait to see where they take Roy's character, more so with the absence of Thea. Speak of which, she was mostly absent from the trailer., but I doubt they'd not have her in the season just maybe later on in the Season.
Then we get a glimpse of a meeting between Ray Palmer (Atom) and Oliver and Felicity. It was already common knowledge that he would be brought into the "business", something to do with the Science Division. It would be most awesome to see him become Atom this season but I got a nagging suspicion he'll be plain old Ray Palmer for quite awhile. But still if the PTB decide to make him into the Atom this season, I'd be stoked.
This picture (above) of Laurel and Oliver together is a strange twist (surprising maybe the operative word). Apparently, these two will go into business together, not anything official but more akin to a side business they put together. Nevertheless, they're holding hands and well I hope it works well for them and the overall Season 3 arc.
We see that a lot of Oliver's time "on the island" was actually not on the island at all, which is honestly somewhat confusing. While the last two seasons have definitely suggested that he had to be elsewhere at some point, let's not forget the opening scene where he is rescued. So either he was forced back onto the island, or voluntarily returned. It's possible that he decided to return to Starling City and just wanted to avoid questions by pretending to have been marooned on an island the entire time. We know he does tend to lie about what happened in those five years.
Of course, we all knew that more of Amanda Waller would be in order. I mean he had encountered her back on the island as we see them talking to one another with Ollie in island-mode kicked into high gear. The conversation doesn't seem to go over very well, either, because she basically threatens to kill him. It shall prove to be most interesting to see how this affects the relationship between Diggle and Oliver, when they make that "connection".
Now, this may be received well or not at all depending on who you talk to but the return of Black Canary is fine with me. I really like her character. I am a little on the fence in regards to her feelings towards Ollie and his for her. I guess I want Felicity and Ollie to get together. Still I wonder what role she shall play in the upcoming season.
And last but not least, the best news for Arrow at least for those who want to know what's up with the Felicity/Ollie ship. Oliver and Felicity look like they are finally actually getting together! Felicity is my favorite character on the show for so many reasons, and the tension between her and Oliver is incredible. Oliver finally (finally) gets it together enough to ask her out to dinner, but where will this actually go? Then again, Ray Palmer (Atom) was always billed as a love interest for her in this season, and we have seen his flirtation (recharged by crossover episodes with the new upcoming show, The Flash) with our tech savvy blond. Still I want her to get with Ollie. They just seem so right with one another it defies logic to think otherwise.
Sound off in the comments below how you feel bout the teaser trailer and that is within.
