I've bounced this idea around for a while now - create a list of voice actors specific to superhero related shows, video games and or animated movies. Well, this became a bit overwhelming, as there are so many great voice actors in the field. To give this the attention it truly deserves, I will post my personal preferences are in a series.

Today's focus is Phil LaMarr, why Phil LaMarr you ask? Well...

The former MADtv star was King of the Seven Seas in the hit Cartoon Network series-Young Justice and played Aquaman in Injustice: Gods Among Us. Not only that, he's most noted for his role in both Justice League and Justice League Unlimited as Green Lantern, John Stewart! He's an incredibly talented and very underrated voice actor in the business. Did I mention that he's a very versatile actor from doing improv on Whose Line Is It AnyWay?, hysterical sketches on MADtv, playing Jamaican bureaucrat/accountant-Hermes Conrad on Futurama and becoming the greatest Green Lantern that hit television!

Here's what I feel are some of Phil LaMarr's memorable superhero characters -

Static/ Virgil Hawkins-Static Shock (2000)

Green Lantern, John Stewart-Justice League (2001) & Justice League Unlimited (2004)

Jack-Samurai Jack (2001)

Aquaman-Injustice: Gods Among Us (2013)

I'm testing the waters with this article and would appreciate your thoughts. Based on your responses, the next article in the series is forthcoming. Stay tuned and leave your thoughts in the comments section below!
