Guardians of the Galaxy hits this Friday, and technically this Thursday as well if you are lucky enough to get yourself earliest tickets. However, it seems as if the after-credits scene has lasted quite awhile without being leaked. Both Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Thor: The Dark World had at least one of their post-credits scenes leaked two weeks before the film's release. Now, Guardians of the Galaxy's has made it online.

All of Marvel Studios' Phase 2 films have had two scenes within the credits, with the exception of [Iron Man 3](movie:24391) which had its second scene cancelled. The films all had a mid-credits scene that teases something about a future franchise and a post-credits scene that teases something from the movie. If the trend follows, this scene will appear after all the credits have rolled.

WARNING: This description reveals HUGE spoilers about the film, including some of the plot and resolution of the film.

In the movie, the beautifully genuine Groot sacrifices himself for the sake of saving the rest of the Guardians of the Galaxy. However, if you know anything about Groot, you know that he's practically immortal, since he can "re-spawn" himself should there be even the slightest splinter of him that survives whatever damage he takes.

The post-credits scene starts off with Drax the Destroyer polishing his weapon, which pans out to show an adorable little baby Groot, after being revived from his destruction in the movie, dancing to "I Want You Back" by the Jackson 5 in a plant pot. Drax looks back and forth between the weapon and baby Groot a few times, with Groot freezing mid-dance every time Drax looks away, and the scene ends with Groot still dancing.

So one scene down, one to go. Or will they break the chain and only have one scene? I guess we'll find out this weekend! Don't forget to buy your tickets now.

[Guardians of the Galaxy](movie:424073) hits theaters this Friday on August 1st, 2014.
