Stop all the clocks. Stop the presses. Stop...heck, stop everything.

Simon Pegg might actually be in Star Wars Episode VII.

And, just to be clear, we don't mean 'Simon Pegg jokingly tweeted a picture of Harrison Ford's parking spot' kind of actually in Star Wars:

This time, it could actually be for real. As in, for real, for real.

And wouldn't you know it - Khan's behind the whole thing...

That's right - after Benedict Cumberbatch - Khan 2 himself - revealed at Comic-Con that he'd spotted Pegg on the Star Wars Episode VII set, Vulture asked Pegg whether or not he was, in fact, in the movie. His answer was...evasive:

"Yes, Benedict said something at Comic-Con and on MTV."

When pressed for a...well, an actual answer, Pegg refused to confirm anything -but in the process gave what seems like a distinct hint at how he could well appear:

"Well, J.J. uses me in different roles, and we’re good friends. I feel like my face in Star Wars would pop people out of the movie. Look, I love Star Wars, and I don’t want people to watch and go, Oh, there’s Simon Pegg’s face. The film is cleverly cast with these amazing, unknown actors."

Which sounds an awful lot like he's definitely, definitely in it - but will be appearing via mo-cap. Meaning the next question probably should have been:

  In that instance, yes.
In that instance, yes.

But, instead, it may have been one that was even more revealing. Vulture asked Pegg if his response meant that he definitely wasn't in the movie. His reply?

"[Smiles.] Of course, I visited the set. It’s amazing, and I love Star Wars. I want to see everything happening. It looks wonderful, and you need to believe those characters. Any type of stunt casting might just pop you out of the movie."

So. Just to double check:

Close friend of J.J. Abrams? Check.

Already worked with Mo-Cap supremo Andy Serkis? Check.

Been seen on the set a number of times? Check.

Already attempted to remake it himself? Check.

Hinted that if he were to appear in the movie - y'know, if - it would be inappropriate to see his face? Check.

Just will not outright deny it, no matter how many times you ask him? Check.

Yup. Seems about right.

Looks like Simon Pegg's going to be in Episode VII...

The only potential problem?

[Star Wars: Episode VII](movie:711158) is set for release December 18, 2015. With or without Simon Pegg as an aging Admiral Ackbar.

What do you guys think? Is Pegg going to be in Star Wars?
