In the run-up to its fairly imminent DVD and Blu-Ray release, Lionsgate have unleashed a rather gruesome deleted scene for Divergent.

The short clip, which features Tris (Shailene Woodley) awakening to terrifying screams, is particularly disturbing considering [Divergent](movie:593270) is a PG-13 aimed mostly at young adults. In fact, it is probably for this very reason that the scene was cut from the final theatrical version. Check it out below:

In addition to the deleted scene, Lionsgate also announced that other features would be included on the home release of Divergent. It will include a behind the scenes documentary, Bringing Divergent to Life, director and producer commentary, as well as a special feature, Faction Before Blood, which fleshes out Divergent's futuristic world.

The DVD and Blu-Ray is expected to arrive in stores on August 5th.
