Hey all you musical fans out there!!! Have I got some news for you. The first official trailer for the classic musical Into the Woods movie adaptation has finally hit the web!!! Now if your like me, you love musicals right? Well, this is no exception.

Into the Woods is a musical that has songs written by Stephen Sondheim (of Sweeney Todd fame) and a book written by James Lapine. This will be Disney's first official attempt to introduce their own interpretation of a musical right off of Broadway.

The musical involves several favorite fairy-tale characters including Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel and more. They are all tied into an original story of a Baker and his wife who long to have a child. Unfortunately, they are cursed by a sneaky witch to be forever childless. So they embark on a quest to break the curse by retrieving several objects from other fairy-tale characters.

Now looking at this classic musical, you may be thinking 'Is this The Avengers?' Well, in some ways it is. But it is done in a fairy-tale perspective.

The film is directed by Rob Marshall (Annie (1999); Chicago; Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides), and will feature several well-known actors and actresses including Meryl Streep (The Giver; Mama Mia) as the Witch, Johnny Depp (Pirates of the Caribbean; Alice in Wonderland) as the Wolf, Anna Kendrick (Twilight Saga; Pitch Perfect) as Cinderella, Chris Pine (Star Trek; Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit), Christine Baranski (The Grinch; Mama Mia) as Cinderella's Stepmother, James Corden as the Baker, and Emily Blunt (Edge of Tomorrow) as the Baker's wife.

So this trailer marks a solid start to what I believe will be up on my personal favorite musicals next to 2012's Les Miserables, which I thought was one of the most passionate and inspirational film adaptations of a musical by the end of the year when it hits the big screen in Holiday 2014. The song in the trailer is supposedly the musical number 'I Wish' with just the words 'I Wish' sung by numerous characters.

That marks the beginning of the marketing for one of the most anticipated musical movies of all time that has gone on for quite some time now.

So now the table turns to you. Have you seen Into The Woods on Broadway? Who's your favorite fairy tale character? Do you think this will be similar to The Avengers? Write your comments down below.

Into the Woods hits theaters on December 25th 2014.
