Matt Davis might once have been a staple of The Vampire Diaries, but the actor considered leaving Mystic Falls for good when his role became more sporadic.
The 36-year-old actor who plays Alaric in the hit CW series explained that returning to series as a guest star just wasn't his bag. He told Digital Spy that;
It was very uncomfortable for me to come back as a guest star. I felt very much removed and out of sync with the whole experience. I felt awkward and I thought, 'I don't think I can keep saying yes to coming back in these little guest star appearances here and there, 'cos it's just too hard for me emotionally
Bless him, Davis obviously has a serious bond with the rest of [The Vampire Diaries](series:200853) crew for repeatedly coming and going to be such an emotional wrench.
Luckily, series producer Julie Plec fixed all of Davis' woes by offering him a coveted role as a series regular in season 6. After being given more stable ground in TVD community, Davis revealed that;
I was thrilled to be able to come back. I had felt very much in limbo with Alaric for the last two seasons. Now I feel like it's even better than it was before
Are you looking forward to seeing more of Alaric in The Vampire Diaries?
