I know that the Halo franchise is still continuing to expand it's popularity by making Halo 5 Guardians along with Halo Nightfall and Halo TV series made by Steven Spielberg and Showtime. But to be honest I think Microsoft should get their act together and just make a movie. Yes, it's true it's been in development for seven years since the last time it was canceled was back in 2007 when Neill Blomkamp declared the project dead. Remember when Walt Disney Studios and Lucasfilm made a licensing agreement from which George Lucas himself sold the whole Star Wars franchise for 4 billion dollars. Then finally after 30 years in developmental hell, [Star Wars: Episode VII](movie:711158) was brought back to life and got a release date for 2015! (the real confirmation for Dec. 2015 came a year later.) And if things weren't exciting enough Disney also is working on a Star Wars theme park as well! Basically the Star Wars franchise is once again trying to be popular again and Halo should do a similar technique from what Star Wars did by making Universal Pictures/Legendary and Microsoft doing their licensing agreement. So in a way, Microsoft is still retaining the [Halo](movie:559680) video game license while Universal Pictures is making Halo TV shows and Halo Movies.

Universal can also expand the Halo franchise more by making a Halo theme park in Islands of Adventure. The idea is that Jurassic Park island and Harry Potter land will still remain since they're still very popular films right now. The one themed land to pick is also the most controversial one yet. Marvel Super Hero Island although a very well known place to visit in Universal is also in direct conflict with Disney's now bought Marvel series. So in a way if Universal were to close down Marvel Super Hero Island not only would a Halo theme park would begin construction but that could make it easier for Disney World to finally make it's own version of a Marvel Theme Park. That is if Universal can allow that to happen though because they may still need Disney to pay a sum amount of money for god knows how much in order for Universal and Marvel's contract to expire immediately.

What do you think about my opinion of Universal buying the Halo franchise much like Disney did with Star Wars. Do you think this would be a bad idea like Disney's Star Wars films competing against Universal's Halo films? Let me know below. Personally, I think everyone should make a petition to tell Universal to buy the Halo franchise!
