I was lucky enough to be able to see the first screening of filmmaker TJ Nordaker's behind the scenes documentary on the making of the surprise Indie hit [Cheap Thrills](movie:1202911) in May at Crypticon Seattle. Being a big fan of Cheap Thrills, I was stoked to be able to get up close and personal with what went on during the 12 day shoot...which took place during the hottest 2 weeks in LA's recent memory, while they fought against rolling black-outs, and each other during filming.
The best parts of this documentary? Watching stars Ethan Embry and Pat Healy ACTUALLY putting the boots to each other in an intense fight scene, and the stomach churning eating contest...which almost made me puke.
If you haven't seen Cheap Thrills yet, this documentary should convince you that you've been missing out!
A scheming couple put a struggling family man and his old friend through a series of increasingly twisted dares over the course of an evening at a local bar.
