When one hear's the term cinematic universe, most people instantly think of Marvel. I am one of those people. A universe isn't just a bunch of great movies that you can watch one after the other. Multiple universes need to be connected. Look at Marvel: Iron Man, Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor and Captain America all lead up to The Avengers. We all know the unfortunate canon issue being shrunk to only the films, Clone Wars and Rebels. So we can't get Expanded Universe films, Old Republic films, Republic Commando films, Force Unleashed spin-offs, etc.... or can we?

Jacen and Jaina

These two!
These two!

Just because the story lines aren't canon, doesn't mean they can't use the characters, right? can't they just change characters up a bit? If Marvel can make it work, I'm sure Lucasfilm can. They're both Disney after all. Anyway, characters like Jacen and Jaina I would love to see in the upcoming [Star Wars: Episode VII](movie:711158).

I'm a fan of Star Wars, but not a fan. I watched the movies and the shows, played most of the games and read maybe bout 35 out of the million books and comics in Star Wars hahaha. There are definitely EU items on my list though. I am constantly getting told that Legacy of the Force is way to go to start my EU adventure. Heir to the Empire, I have also heard was good.

Only one problem though

GREAT GAMES!
GREAT GAMES!

I wouldn't have a problem If Lucas/Disney released prequel films such as these. Although I am quite sure that film wise, we will be getting a new Expanded Universe and no more prequels. Another reason why I'm a fan but not a fan, I'm casual. I still have yet to play Knights of the Old Republic. My best friend tells me that they are the best Star Wars games. Idk because we have games like Battlefront and LEGO Star Wars. Another unfortunate thing about the new canon is that everything will line up with the film canon. So we won't get Republic Commando 2, Force Unleashed 3, etc. I just hope he updates the canon. He did do that for the Clone Wars a week after announcing that the only canon was the the saga. I'm not worried at all about the film being bad. I am just looking more toward Battlefront III hahaha.

But don't lose hope

Just hear me out for this one.
Just hear me out for this one.

This is a great book series if you are clone trooper as well as Mandalorian lover such as myself. Here is why you shouldn't loose hope. Story lines in this time period cover the Clone Wars and post Clone Wars. (Cough cough, Star Wars the Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels) Same as the Force Unleashed and The Last of the Jedi. If these story lines don't get their own films, they could pop up in Star Wars Rebels. For those of you who are Old Republic era and/or Expanded Universe fans, you needn't lose hope. How many of you predicted that they would make Star Wars Rebels? Exactly, not a soul saw that one coming. Who's to say they won't make two more TV shows based on those time periods?

Star Wars Rebels
Star Wars Rebels

Long story short, book favorites like Ferus Olin, Clan Skirata, Starkiller, etc. can pop up in this show and become official canon. However I think if Lucas updated his canon, Marvel and DC wouldn't be of much talk among nerds like us! Anything you guys think should be canon that isn't? May the Force be with you!

Poll

Just curious. So what is your favorite Star Wars era? Mine is Clone Wars.
