With the release of Guardians of the Galaxy, the most recent Marvel film to hit theaters there is only one outcome...big money! With a risk of a life time introducing the lesser known superhero group in the marvel universe, Marvel wins big and takes the house. Featuring a cast that helped the film greatly, it was perfect for the characters. Chris Pratt, is hilarious and a total badass playing Star Lord. Fits the character so well, it was impressive. Zoe Saldana portrays Gamora, an alien assassin with a flirtatious attitude. You know what she is thinking without any words. her face says it all. Now that's acting when the audience can relay that from the actress/actor. Dave Batista portrays Drax the Destroyer a total badass, with an entertaining side to him. The tall, menacing, green alien will be loved by all. Vin Diesel plays Groot an alien tree creature, who protects Rocket and is his friend. "I am Groot" is all he can say, and it never gets old. Groot is a caring creature with few words. He is humorous and loving. Last but certainly not least, Rocket Raccoon who is played by Bradley Cooper. Rocket steals the show and almost every scene he is in. He's small, ready to kick ass and get into trouble. Rocket is lovable and fun. He's got a Bugs Bunny side to him, causing trouble whenever he can. Not to confuse anyone...he's not a cartoon, just has characteristics of the classic Warner Bros. cartoon for me.
The film earned $11.2 million from Thursday night showings, which surpassed Captain America: The Winter Soldier's gross ($10.2 million) for the biggest Thursday evening start for a movie in 2014. With more money to come this weekend and for weeks to come, this film will remain in the number one ranking for a long while. With many hints to previous films, Thor: The Dark World and The Avengers the film introduces us the Thanos and his minion who we saw in the Avengers talking with Loki playing the messenger of Thanos. The film dwells into The Collector's character a little more, making it more interesting. So will the Guardians do a crossover with The Avengers soon? Who knows! No scene for an upcoming Marvel film in this movie once again. Though there is a cute scene with a long lost character from Marvel at the end. many will understand, few won't. Lots of fans will be praying, that the Marvel character will not return to the big screen. No spoilers here folks!
In conclusion, this film is one of the greats. A classic added to the many Marvel films before it. Its probably the best Marvel film. Its worth the money and I recommend it. Adults will love it also, its not just a kids movie folks! Some adult humor in there, its fun for all! The Guardians will be returning to the big screen, hopefully after the Avengers sequel Avengers: Age of Ultron.
