This weekend will see everyone's favorite adolescent, mutant, ninjitsu-knowing chelonians, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arriving once again on the big screen.

However, as I'm sure most of you know, the turtles have a long and illustrious legacy that runs all the way back to 1984. Back then, the [Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles](movie:323027) were actually devised as a tongue-in-cheek joke which pastiched the comic-books being developed at that time. The new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie has courted controversy from the very start, especially when it was announced Michael Bay would be producing. However, since then, people seem to have calmed down and become a bit more accepting of this latest venture. However can it ever live up to the original creations?
