A while back, I wrote a little about Darkseid as the villain for the upcoming Justice League movie after tweets that he had been included in an agency grid for the project. However, if BadassDigest is to believed, this will not, in fact, be the case.

My sources tell me not to expect Darkseid in the DC movieverse until Justice League 2, so that means a Guardians 2 in 2017 would definitely have the Eternals beating the New Gods to big screens.

This raises a couple of really interesting possibilities. The most obvious one is the question of who will be the villain in the first [Justice League](movie:401267) movie (which I covered in the last article), as well as the possibilities of the Eternals and the New Gods coming into play. It has already been suggested that Marvel will introduce the Inhumans as a replacement (of sorts) for the X-Men because it looks like FOX won't be returning the rights any time soon, and the Eternals could definitely provide a link between the Avengers, [Guardians of the Galaxy](movie:424073) and Inhumans to really draw the Marvelverse together.

The most exciting part of it for me is that it keeps the ball rolling with DC creating a cinematic universe to rival Marvel's. I am so excited to see so many comic book adaptations being made, but more than that, being planned! We are already up to 2018, and the fans are still clamoring for more.

I just hope that they continue to make them for us.
