While promoting Creative Assembly's 'Alien: Isolation' game last week, Mrs Sigourney Weaver participated in an interview with 'The Guardian' to discuss the Alien Franchise, and why she feels that the story has not yet concluded.
"I definitely feel the story is unresolved, we never really finished it. That was sort of my responsibility, because I didn't like where the story was going – I'd already tried to kill myself in Alien 3. I didn't like the Alien vs Predator movies, I thought they were demeaning to a wonderful story. Jim Cameron said it was like Alien vs the Wolfman. For many reasons, I didn't want to pursue it, I wanted to do other things."
"As a former English major, I feel like… hmm, I wish we’d finished this story, it feels incomplete to me. I wish it didn’t, but it does. We left it hanging. And there’s a way to finish this story that I think would be satisfying to me and the many fans."
It's pretty obvious that Sigourney Weaver is still very interested in the Alien franchise, and would most likely reprise her famous role, were she given the chance. Perhaps it wouldn't be a sequel - maybe it could be a prequel, a remake (god let's hope not) or maybe they would end up rebooting the whole franchise like they do with The Terminator, Predator and many more.
Either way, Science Fiction fans will (probably) be pretty excited to hear this from Ellen Ripley herself, so if you're a fan of the Alien series, be sure to keep an eye and an ear out, as this is some pretty promising news!
Do you think another 'Alien' movie should be made?
