I enjoy movies just as much as the next guy!

Movies that bring me back to a better day...

As I am now recently single and realizing that it could possibly be this way for a while I decided to do what I always do when I am either sick or in post break up mode; I have retreated to my vast collection of DVD's to soothe my symptoms.

With that being said here are the absolute best movies for a guy to watch when dealing with this situation (in no particular order):

1. Remember the Titans

Probably the best football movie ever to be made. As a guy in my early twenties and having played football in middle school I understand that there are fewer things better than taking your anger out on the guy across from you. The most beautiful thing about this movie is the way these young men are forced to become a team. It speaks from a deep part of the inner man and shows you that it's sometimes more important to sped time with your boys and than focusing on her.

What it comes down to is this: fewer things make a man happier than when he can watch or talk about football, whether it's high school glory days, the game the week before, or a movie that has stood the test of time such as this one.

2. Dumb and Dumber

Hello?! This is a bro movie if there ever was one! Two guys who have been the best of friends since forever decide to go on a road trip to find the love of one of their lives. Okay yeah, its got a girl in it, but the antics that happen while their on the road make the movie what it has become! Not only is there a sequel coming to theaters this winter (excluding the piece of crap that was Dumb and Dumberer) it has its jokes that can't be topped by almost anyone. And who could forget the most annoying sound in the world...

My favorite scene in the entire movie is when Lloyd and Harry are at the dinner and skip out on the tab, HOLY CRAP!! We've all talked about how we would ever dine and dash or what circumstances we would do it for, but if I was ever going to do it. I would follow Lloyd and Harry's lead all the way!

3. Napoleon Dynamite

By far one of the greatest comedies to ever exist, EVER. I saw it for the first time for a dollar in Mesquite, Texas when I was only 10 years old. Here we are 10 years later and people quote the movie like it came out last week. It is the only comedy that I watch and nearly pee my pants every time I watch it. Before Dynamite, saying words like "sweet", "dang", "flippin'", and my favorite "butt-nugget", would have never been cool to say. School talent shows haven't been the same since then. I'm a college student and I watched someone do the dance just recently at a talent show! Oh, you don't remember the dance? Take a look below...

Without this movie I, and I assume many other people my age, would have never broke out of their shell's. To me this one will always be up there in the 'Bro Movie Hall of Fame'.

4. The Star Wars Saga

This one is my ultimate security blanket. If I am sick, hurt in any way, or heart broken I retreat to this one almost instantly. It is by far my most favorite movie(s) of all time. I love the idea of wanting to go out and fight for the good so that evil will lose! Luke Skywalker is one of my hero's of cinema. He learns so quickly in A New Hope that he has to learn how to control his feelings before he takes "on the whole empire [his self]." The same way in a post break up situation, I say that it's important to put on the breaks before you go find the next girl.

Of all the bro movies that could dig you out of the heartache of a break up this one is a list topper for sure! With that being said, don't go into a place where you end up saying, "I have a bad feeling about this," when you or your bros tell you that, "The force will be with you, always."

5. 300

Did you really think that this wouldn't make the list? Come on it has too! It is the ultimate man movie to ever hit the silver screen. Leonidas is the man of all men when it comes to manly movies.

Sorry Russel Crowe, you had a good run.

It wasn't until the "This is SPARTA!" scene that Gladiator was the number one manly film of all time. The first time I saw that kick I was in awe of the strength that poured out of a mans leg. Who knew that a leg kick could be more manly than some guys head getting cut off.

Which one of my 5 would you choose as your post break up security blanket?
