Michael Bay's new adaptation of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is released worldwide this weekend, and it's already pulled in some pretty poor reviews.

Forbes go so far as to say that "it has no reason to exist in which to justify its mediocrity." Indeed, it seems that fans of the beloved pizza-eating, machete wielding trio can look forward to another pointless Hollywood "makeover" of a classic series.

In an attempt to drum up some excitement, Nickelodeon have released some high-res pictures of the gang in action, featuring Megan Fox as reporter April O'Neil, Will Arnett as cameraman Vernon Fenwick and veteran tough guy William Fichtner being William Fichtner.

Voices for the turtles come courtesy of Johnny Knoxville (Leonardo), Alan Ritchson (Raphael) and Noel Fisher (Michelangelo). Monk star Tony Shalhoub also makes a guest appearance as the voice of ninja rat Splinter (really).
