There is one thing I absolutely love and that is a dark witty comedy. Something else I totally adore is a good dramatic Western. I think Tommy Lee Jones has just directed the most perfect marriage of both and I'm in LOVE!! The European trailer and clips from Tommy Lee Jones' second directed film [The Homesman](movie:396548) might bring the Western back to younger generations just like the Coen Brothers did with the dark remake of "True Grit".

The story of a troubled claims-man (Lee Jones) is hired by a single frontiers woman (Swank) to escort three VERY mentally Ill woman across the west while facing all the dangers of the wild west. Now if that doesn't peek your interest then just look at the trailer and I dare you not to like this!

Jones, Wesley Oliver and Kieran Fitzgerald adapted the screenplay from the novel by Glendon Swarthout.

The movie stars Tommy Lee Jones of course along with two-time Oscar winner Swank. Grace Gummer, Miranda Otto and Sonja Richter are the three troubled women. The star studded cast also includes Hollywood big shots John Lithgow, Tim Blake Nelson, William Fichtner, Jesse Plemons and Marvel's Avengers 2 bad guy Ultron himself James Spader. The trailer also reveals that Hailee Steinfeld and Meryl Streep round out this amazing cast with what looks like small cameos.

I also found these clips that shows Tommy Lee Jones at his best!!

Tommy Lee Jones who already has a directorial debut masterpiece on the way with the moody "The Three Burials Of Melquiadas Estrada" will be very busy this Acadamy Awards! Along with this follow-up dark Western comedy "The Homesmen" which is also being release in the heat of Oscar nomination season.
