Sometimes a story comes along which reminds me that the film world actually is an alternate universe where there are no logical values and Tori Spelling is acceptable.

Mumbai-based Fox Star Studios are planning to adapt a Bollywood version of The Fault in Our Stars - the story of a cancer patient who falls in love with a football player at a support group.

The CEO of Fox Star Studios Vijay Singh had this to say:

The story resonates with the emotions of today's youth and has found universal appeal. We are excited to adapt the film for Bollywood and can't wait to get started.

We can only assume that the source material will be handled with great care, and not, as the image suggests, with accompanying synchronised dances down hospital hallways.

But then again, this is Bollywood we're talking about.

No names have yet to be attached to the adaptation, but whatever the case, the Indian take on The Fault in Our Stars can't be anymore schmaltzy than its U.S cousin, which was widely panned this year.
