The past few years have seen few greater sources of sci-fi excitement than J.J. Abrams' upcoming Star Wars Episode VII, and Guillermo Del Toro's 2013 monster epic Pacific Rim. When it comes to grandiose, childhood-self-reviving science fiction mayhem - those are our twin godheads. Captain Kirk'll just have to wait in line...

Which makes this next image just about the most exciting piece of actually purchasable sci-fi goodness in ages:

That's right, the 1/144 STORM KING MACHINE (Mini Edition) is something you can actually own - because the world lacked a combination Stormtrooper/Jaeger, and that was not a situation that could in good conscience continue, apparently.

The figure will be on sale at Singapore Games and Comic Con September 6-7, 2014 for $50 - and then go on worldwide sale at around about September/October sort of time.

But, assuming you're not going to make it to Singapore in the next month, just look at it!

It's beautiful!

[Star Wars: Episode VII](movie:711158) is set for release December 18, 2015. Hopefully featuring Stormtrooper Jaegers.

What do you guys think? Up for a Star Wars/Pacific Rim crossover?
