Movies are my life...and life is chaos. LOL

You know its funny. I remember watching [Justice League](movie:401267) as a kid and remembering how tough Wonder Woman is. Like REALLY tough. Like, she could probably kick every man's hide without trying. And yet, we cast a skinny super model to play her. Now, for reasons I can't fathom, people have jumped to support this decision even after the tragedy that was [Man of Steel](movie:15593) (The film got a review lower than The Amazing Spider-Man reboot fellas, and for once critics were on the nose). Along with Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman and Jason Mamoa as [Aquaman](movie:264237) (Two actors never revered for their acting), we find ourselves on the brink of what can either be a huge comeback for DC or total destruction. It was the casting of Gadot that really did it for me. Here's the shocker though...why are so many people supporting her for such ridiculous reasons? Not kidding in that every argument given why she will be good is utterly silly. Let's begin shall we.

She's A Good Actress

Even her face screams, "Why was I in the movie?"
Even her face screams, "Why was I in the movie?"

There seems to be this argument she is a great actress. Fellas, if playing an Israeli hotty in the FAST & FURIOUS films is considered acting nowadays than art as we know it is frikkin' dead. She is not an actress. In fact, for people who actually use the internet to look her up for other than bikini pics (This picture was for those guys), you'd know she was a super model before she became an actress. And yet we diss Gina Carano for not being an actress, even though she at least can say she starred in a Steven Soderbergh film. Yes I will simultaneously be defending Carano. Sue me. I like to give counterarguments. Anyway...

She's In Good Shape For the Part

"Yay, now I'm not a twig anymore."
"Yay, now I'm not a twig anymore."

Yes we get it, Gadot built some muscle for the part...but was it enough? Let's just be clear what I am saying about [Wonder Woman](movie:45787). She is able to take on Superman head-to-head. Gadot is about 4 inches shorter than Henry Cavill and, even with muscle, still skinny as a bone in comparison. She'll look downright hilarious next to Cavill and they'll rely on wire work and raisers I imagine to make her look equal in strength. Yes because this clearly wasn't a better idea...

She looks like she could kick his ass!
She looks like she could kick his ass!

Gina Carano is one inch shorter that Gadot...but she makes up for it in pure muscle and strength and intimidation. And the fact she is dating Cavill in real life would have just been an added bonus where she'd be convenient to reach if they needed reshoots. Instead we're getting this...

"These guys are going to crush me."
"These guys are going to crush me."

Besides the fact you have the guy who got rejected as Superman years ago, a girl from Fast & Furious, and the guy who is a great director but has been trashed as an actor really doesn't build confidence here. What does this say?

People are Hypocrites

You know all that utter, excuse my language, bullshit about trying to be more realistic or political correct is completely wrong. People still will pick the super model over who was right for the role. People have no idea how much a physical presence adds to a scene, let alone actual acting. One person gave the argument on another article about this that you have Jennifer Lawrence playing Mystique why can't Gadot? Holy crap, besides the fact Lawrence has curves and doesn't fit the snakelike look of Mystique, Lawrence has, by all the people I've talked to, seen as one of the most miscast superheroes in cinematic history. You can't just pick someone because they are popular or because they look pretty. You need to consider everything when casting someone. Carano may not have the best acting, but Wonder Woman is suppose to be naive and friendly except when challenged. An MMA fighter would be able to pull off this dual personality easily because that is what they do. Instead, I'm going to have to watch this...

  Photoshop...my greatest ally.
Photoshop...my greatest ally.

The fact that one photo-shopped picture of her won everyone over just shows how little standard people have nowadays. And most of you will find some ridiculous argument to tell me I'm wrong and I don't know what I'm talking about. I mean you won't give an actual argument because people don't feel the need to justify their hypocrisy these days, but go ahead and tell me what an ass I am because I demand a popular superhero to be portrayed correctly. See though, I can't stand the DC comics as of late anyway so maybe I am bias.

Between making every hero dark and gritty now (Even Superman is somewhat of an ass) and the fact the director of this film has been most successful throwing 300 men to their death on a CGI-filled stage, I have officially given up on ever seeing inspiring heroes from DC again. They used to be, and then Nolan makes one good , gritty Batman series which somehow trickles into all the films now. Why Batman is older than Superman by 20 years is anyone's guess. Why Superman now has the color scheme of Dark Superman from "Superman III" is beyond me. Why Wonder Woman is played by an Israeli super model...well I think we just covered that.

So please people, if you want to respond to this article, be smart and passionate about it. Don't rant at me, discuss with me. Try and convince me that somehow this girl can pull it off and that all my favorite superheroes can, in turn, be redeemed in this film.
