A web-series titled "Imperium" has blasted its way onto the internet-and it's not your typical jokes and cheese Youtube fare.

This is a series that chronicles the Devil's plan to overthrow Heaven...and use the Four Horsemen to do it.

Without a ton of explanation, I'll just let you watch the trailer for the series here:

Now that we've gotten that out of the way, we can get on to showing you guys the pilot episode, which was written, produced and directed by Kathryn Hazelton; a student at Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington, NC as her end of semester film for the highly regarded Film & Video Production program at the school.

The film stars Riz Ali as Lucifer himself (or as he would say: "Iblis")-who also co-produces the series and is in charge of visual effects.

Who's that guy playing Death? If you're a fan of The Vampire Diaries-you may know him as the uber-villain Silas on the TV show, played by Scott Parks, who co-produced the first episode. Unfortunately, some creative differences forced his departure-but he no doubt played a huge part in the start up.

Imperium's first episode was nominated for Best Local Film at the 2014 Cape Fear Independent Film Festival in Wilmington, NC, and also nominated for Best Cinematography at the 2014 Innovative Film Festival. The man behind the camera? Yet another North Carolina native, Brannigan Carter....who happens to be the guy shamelessly writing this and promoting the series. I also edit the series.

That's about that as far as the first episode goes. Kathryn is now in the process of shooting and producing the second episode, which brings on a much larger cast and crew as well as opening the story up and ramping the action up as well. Here's a picture of the cast table read from a few months ago:

Wonder who that is? One of the Four Horsemen?
