Breaking News!!! Robin Williams has just hours ago been found dead in his own home. According to the authorities in his Northern California village, he was found unconscious and was not breathing at all around noon earlier today. On another note, the coroner "suspects the death to being a suicide due to asphyxia.
If you were a Robin Williams fan growing up (like me), then you may recall his roles as the voice of Genie in Disney's Aladdin, Peter Pan in Steven Spielberg's Hook, Theodore Roosevelt in Night at the Museum and my personal favorite Daniel Hillard/Mrs. Doubtfire in the 1993 smash hit Mrs. Doubtfire.
Other films in his career included Dead Poets Society, Popeye, Jumanji, Old Dogs, Patch Adams, The Butler, Flubber, RV, Good Will Hunting and Robots among others. He can also be found in his own stand up comedy specials Weapons of Self-Destruction, Reality, What a Concept, and A Night at the Met. He also guest-starred in an episode of Whose Line is it Anyway when fellow comedian Drew Carey was the host.
Now in his remaining career, Williams was set to reprise the role of Daniel Hillard/Mrs. Doubtfire in the sequel to the original 1993 classic. Now the filmmakers are going to have to consider replacing the role to someone new and/or someone who has an experience in comedy. He is also set to reprise the role of President Theodore Roosevelt in the upcoming sequel, Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb which is set for release in Holiday 2014.
RIP Robin Williams (July 1951-August 2014)
