In an attempt to distract myself from the miserableness of today (can't talk about it, don't wanna, still watching The Birdcage and crying), I looked to the Internet to supply me some distractions. While I mostly ended up reverse distracted and in a rabbit hole of weepy tears, I DID stumble across this new bit of casting news from the set of Ryan Murphy's American Horror Story: Freak Show... and it's probably the most unusual so far!

Casting, I mean. Hell, this is happening on set.
Casting, I mean. Hell, this is happening on set.

The Hollywood Reporter confirmed yesterday that Grammy-winning soul artist Patti LaBelle has been booked on AHS: Freakshow for a four episode stint as a local townsperson who tries to discover the secrets of the oft-mentioned but yet shown Twisty the Clown Killer (which I will only be happy about if he kills clowns but doesn't still look like one). While LaBelle is the second songbird to make her way to Murphy and Brad Falchuk's twisted halls, unlike previous pop star Stevie Nicks, Patti LaBelle will not be singing.

LaBelle joins fellow American Horror Story newbies Michael Chiklis, Wes Bentley, John Carroll Lynch, and Finn Wittrock.

What do you think of this latest round of AHS casting? Does it make sense to have Patti LaBelle on the show but not let her sing? Let me know in the comments!
