I think it's fair to say that a lot of people prefer practical effects in movies over the easy modern day option of CGI. Most of the time practical effects worked well, but every now and again there are some pretty noticeable fails. Other times of course, there are 'blink and you'll miss it' mistakes in movies. Sometimes the crew members will get in the way, or there will be a shot where we can see a part of the set we aren't supposed to. Either way, here are some of the funniest horror movie mistakes I have personally come across, so check em out and tell me in the comments if you noticed them too!
#1 - From Dusk Til Dawn (1996)
Continuity mistake: In just about every scene in the movie, George Clooney's neck tattoo mysteriously shape shifts and moves about.
#2 - Gremlins (1984)
When the gremlin attacks the mum from the Christmas tree, you can see a crew member in a red shirt pushing the tree over from behind.
#3 - Halloween (1978)
In the scene where we see Michael carrying Annie's body back into the house, her head is on the left side of his body. After we see Tommy in the window of the house across the street, the camera cuts back to Michael who now has Annie's head on the right hand side of his body.
#4 - Halloween H20 (1998)
In a scene where Laurie (Jamie Lee Curtis) is teacher her class, we see the words 'W.B.Yates' written on the blackboard behind her. A few shots later, we see that the spelling has been corrected to 'W.B.Yeats'.
#5 - American Psycho (2000)
"Look at that subtle off-white colouring, the tasteful thickness of it. Oh my god, it even has a watermark." Probably not one that most people will notice, but 'Acquisitions' has been spelled incorrectly on the top right hand corner of the Timothy Bryce's business card.
#6 - Scary Movie (2000)
In the scene in which 'Ghostface' is kicked into the glass bookcase toppling it over, the flower pot which was on top stays on top despite the fall, and is obviously glued on to the bookcase. Why?
#7 - A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)
In the original release of the movie, when Freddy trips and falls over the banister and rolls down the stairs, you can easily see the crash mat that he lands on. This has been edited out in the more recent DVD widescreen release.
#8 - Phantasm 2 (1988)
When Reggie is in the white dimension room, you can clearly see the camera operator and his equipment, which is reflected in the black barrels stacked up against the wall.
#9 - Saw (2004)
In the scene where Alison is pointing a gun at Zep, notice it is in her left hand. The next shot and it's in her right hand, next shot after that and it's back in her left hand.
#10 - IT - (1990)
Plot hole: In 1960, the children all say that they are 11, almost 12. When the film progresses to 1990, the adults all say they are 40, which would mean they had lost 1-2 years of their life.
