According to Collider's sources, the Inhumans movie is now moving forward into further development after the success of another film in Marvel's cosmic group film, Guardians of the Galaxy.
The film is said to be one of the mystery release dates Marvel has previously announced, and will expand upon the alien and cosmic connections of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that was explored in [Guardians of the Galaxy](movie:424073) and lightly covered in Thor: The Dark World, both in and out of the post-credits scene.
This news follows recent tease by Guardians actor Vin Diesel, suggesting his casting and involvement in a future [The Inhumans](movie:910490) movie.
Previously, Kevin Feige has expressed Marvel's emphasis on one character in the Inhumans world: Black Bolt.
“Inhumans is cool, they’re really great characters. The most powerful guy is the king who doesn’t say a word and if he does — lookout. That’s awesome. And the notion of the Terrigen Mists, this notion that you go through and don’t know what you’re going to be on the other side, is incredibly compelling dramatically. In other words, all the craziness that comes with Inhumans, we’ve done in the other movies already,” Feige says. “But this would have some of the social drama that we haven’t really done yet. X-Men, obviously, has been touching on that stuff for a while.”
The Inhumans are a species created by the alien race known as the Kree, the same species as Ronan the Accuser, who was the main villain of Guardians of the Galaxy, as well as the iconic Captain Marvel! Could this extension of the Kree's involvement with the Marvel Cinematic Universe be hinting at a future Captain Marvel or Ms. Marvel film? Comment below with your thoughts!
