Everyone's favorite ass-kicker of the undead is finally getting the cross-genre respect he deserves. Selected specifically by Hideo Kojima and Guillermo Del Toro to star in the next installment of the Silent Hill video game series, you can see Reedus in all his gritty glory in the trailer below!

Sony announced the awe inspiring collaboration on Tuesday at the Gamescom conference in Cologne, Germany. The unique trailer, revealing the title as “Silent Hills”, features a mysterious man walking down a poorly lit street. When his face is finally revealed, we can see that it is Norman Reedus walking into the foggy town of Silent Hill.

Word has it that Norman Reedus will supply his voice and likeness to the game, but there are no details as to whether he will play himself in the game, or another character that was created for him.

The trailer is available on the Playstation Store, and is titled 'P.T' But before you rush to download, the full length of the trailer is an hour and sixteen minutes long, with Norman Reedus appearing at about the 1 hour and sixteen minute mark.

For those who aren't familiar with the game series, “Silent Hill” is a 'closed room setting' which doesn’t require full action, so the focus is on graphic quality as the scariness is in the presentation and ambiance created by the artists working on the project. Atmosphere is everything in "Silent Hill," and Hideo Kojima knows how to deliver the goods. As a personal fan of the games AND the movies, I'm stoked to see what develops, and because the game is SO visual, I'm honestly more excited that Guillermo Del Toro and Kojima are involved.
