The 'Favorites' series by Jan-Hendrik Pelz consists of oil paintings which were created within the scope of a cooperation between Pelz and his favorite artists.
As an integral part of the concept, the artists named their favorite movie and a random number with a maximum of five digits as a time stamp. Stopping the movies at the corresponding times created unpredictable freeze frames, which in the next step Pelz transfered into oil paintings.
The results are pretty awesome.
