Good and potentially worrying news Power Rangers fans!

We now have a day to lock into our calendars, ready to practically explode with Power Rangers-related over-excitement. That's right - the upcoming movie reboot has a release date: July 22, 2016.

Lionsgate has also revealed a (kinda) synopsis for the movie. It reads:

A modern reinvention of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, a group of ordinary high school kids who find themselves infused with extraterrestrial powers and must harness those powers as a team to save the world.

I'd say that means it's Morphin' Time!

The only problem? No, it's not Lord Zedd.

The problem is, this release date puts the reboot up against Guy Ritchie's forthcoming King Arthur. Which isn't quite as exciting a potential face-off as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Captain America 3, but should still make for a crunchingly competitive weekend for the films.

The question then is this - Can the Power Rangers beat Guy Ritchie?

With a story by Star Trek Into Darkness' Roberto Orci, and X-Men: First Class and Thor's Zack Stentz and Ashley Miller handling the screenplay, the Power Rangers certainly have a range of creative firepower behind them that most rebooted franchises would kill for.

Will it be enough, though?

We'll find out in a little under two years, when [Power Rangers](movie:1408875) hits the screen.

What do you guys think? Can Power Rangers beat King Arthur at the box office?
