Warning, the following could - if accurate - be considered fairly SPOILERish.
The hubbub surrounding Marvel's Ant-Man may only just be dying down - and is probably only one misplaced Tweet away from rapidly resurfacing - but that doesn't mean there's no news about the diminutive super-scientist to be found.
Not, at least, while there are Marvel universe cameos still to be confirmed.
Latino-Review's El Mayimbe has revealed details of an early draft of the Ant-Man script - from back in the heady days when Edgar Wright was still attached to direct, and he and Marvel were reportedly fighting over how many MCU characters to include in the film.
The key, cameo-filled scene, according to El Mayimbe, comes right at the start of the film - as part of the first-act prologue, and reportedly features:
Soon to get her own prime-time TV series, Agent Carter.
Soon to appear in that same prime-time TV series.
Last seen being super creepy as a computer in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
And lastly, and both most surprisingly and awesomely:
Last seen being Robert freakin' Redford in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Now, since this is obviously going to be a flashback sequence - one in which Hank Pym (played in the movie by Michael Douglas, but presumably in that scene by another actor) meets the S.H.I.E.L.D. team - the odds are that Redford is going to be nowhere to be seen.
El Mayimbe seems to think the scene'll still be in the finished film - and with Agent Carter set to hit our screens this winter, that certainly seems a reasonable assumption. If so, then, who should play Alexander Pierce?
[Ant-Man](movie:9048) is currently set for release July 17, 2015 - with or without ALL THE CAMEOS.
What do you guys think? Who should play young Pierce?
