Let's all just be honest with ourselves - dolls are terrifying.
And not in a 'just tell yourself it'll be alright, ghosts/vampires/werewolves don't exist' kind of way.
They're terrifying in a 'oh my God, it's right next to my head', sort of way.
Just like Moths.
All of which makes the upcoming spin-off of the wildly financially successful The Conjuring seem all the more terrifying. That's right, Annabelle is about a supernaturally powered doll, and it looks...exactly as horrifying as it sounds:
Good luck getting that out of the terror center at the back of your brain...
Especially after watching the film - because of course we're all going to - seeing as its plot goes like this:
"John Form has found the perfect gift for his expectant wife, Mia – a beautiful, rare vintage doll in a pure white wedding dress. But Mia’s delight with Annabelle doesn’t last long. On one horrific night, their home is invaded by members of a satanic cult, who violently attack the couple. Spilled blood and terror are not all they leave behind. The cultists have conjured an entity so malevolent that nothing they did will compare to the sinister conduit to the damned that is now…Annabelle."
I mean, just look at it:
Yup. I am officially not going to sleep tonight.
[Annabelle](movie:1217914) is set for release October 3, 2014. And then none of us are going to sleep till Halloween.
What do you guys think? Looking good?
