EW recently got to discuss the highly-anticipated next installment of the Hunger Games Franchise. Francis Lawrence, who also directed [The Hunger Games: Catching Fire](movie:303520), said that first of the two-part finale will show Katniss Everdeen as she’s put in the difficult position of becoming the rebel leader in Mockingjay - Part I. On Jennifer Lawrence’s character, Frances Lawrence stated:

"It's a very confusing, conflicted, complicated time for Katniss. She's distraught, confused, angry."

Instead of donning the bright gold emblem to which we have come accustomed, she will be wearing black on black to show off the "the warrior version of her mockingjay look.” Along with her new color scheme, she will also get a new gadgets and arrows built for her by Beetee Latier (Jeffrey Wright).

Although Lawrence was reluctant to say when exactly the first and second parts will be split, he did mention that we might be seeing more of President Coin, played by Julianne Moore, that we did in the book.

[The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1](movie:446261) will be released in November of this year.
