It’s safe to say that over the past few months, Ant-Man has gained attention for all the wrong reasons. Even with its varied and intriguing cast members crawling on board (Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly and The Strain‘s Corey Stoll), the main focus was on the one name we didn’t want to see crawl off it. Edgar Wright has long since left the project after having creative differences with Marvel and Peyton Reed was called in to take over. Well, today is the day he’s going to get the cameras rolling and the crawlies creeping to his whim, following a tweet from the man himself confirming that Ant-Man has started filming today. Teasing fans in no less than 140 characters, Reed told the world the following:

That's all the fearless film maker had to say on the matter and why should he say anything more? From now until July next year, there’s plenty of time to tease at what’s in store. The truth is though, there’s still going to be a handful of people who still wonder what could have been and not what will be. Are you one of them? Has your interest waned now that Wright isn’t the one handling things? Or are you comfortable with Reed behind the camera if it means seeing Ant-Man on screen? Sound off in the comments below and be sure to keep your beady little eyes on Reed’s twitter feed from here on out.

Ant-Man arrives in cinemas July 17, 2015.
