One of the most exciting Easter Eggs in [Arrow](series:720988) so far (for me at least) was the moment in Suicide Squad where one of my favorite DC villains popped up, just for a moment. In case you missed it, here's that line again.
Now, her name was never mentioned, but it's pretty obvious to fans that that is Harley Quinn. Trained therapist? Yup, that's her! It's an absolutely phenomenal cameo, and the voice is spot on.
We didn't get to see her face in the episode (only the back of her head) but we know that we will be seeing more of the Suicide Squad in the upcoming season, so could she have a larger part this time around? Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg talks to Comic Book Resources about possibilities.
I don't know about that. There are very few things we've asked DC Comics for that we haven't gotten. That was something you asked for, and what you saw is a compromise that Geoff Johns and I came up with. To even get that much was a thrill for us. I know that they may have other plans for her, but it was certainly an Easter egg that thrilled us. But the Suicide Squad will definitely be back. Whether we see the 'deranged female killer' we saw before, we'll have to wait and see.
As much as I would love to see Harley Quinn make more of an appearance in the show, the fact that WB have been unwilling to let them have free reign with the character is almost more exciting.
If Warner Brothers/DC is keeping close tabs on the character, does this mean that we will be seeing her elsewhere soon? There are a lot of possibilities, and the popularity of the character will definitely make money for whichever project gets her. There have been rumors of a Suicide Squad movie, which would be absolutely epic, or she may be making an appearance in a different DC film. However, these idea would be a little further down the line, and it would be fairly rare, as many of the other TV characters will be making an appearance in the movie verse without any issues.
It may be that Harley will be making an appearance in [Gotham](series:1127075), and this is why she is being withheld from Arrow. She hasn't been announced for the show, but there are teases of the Joker, and Arkham will be a feature, so we may get a backstory for her there.
Where would you like to see her make an appearance?
