That's right, straight from Alice herself, the zombie killing star announced via her Facebook Page that instead of flying to South Africa to begin shooting, they're actually postponing work on Resident Evil: The Final Chapter because she's PREGNANT!
Jovovich and [Resident Evil 6](movie:671270) director husband, Paul W.S. Anderson, are expecting, and that means no zombie stunts for a while! But that might not be a bad thing - just a few months ago, Anderson had announced that he was in the midst of writing the first draft of the final RE sequel, so color me surprised that they were planning on getting started on shooting so soon.
As of right now, Jovovich says they are targeting next summer (and hints that some crew were already at work in South Africa) as a shooting start, which will hopefully give the RE6 team some extra time to work on that script (and hopefully avoid Vancouver as a plot point this time).
So after a lot of discussion, we thought it would be in everyone’s best interest to wait till the baby is born before we set out to try and tackle an RE movie. Between the stunt work and what will become my ever-expanding belly, we didn’t think pregnancy and zombie killing are the best combo! Lol! I imagine the only thing I’ll be killing in the near future is an endless supply of cupcakes. Yikes…
I would like to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who has been working so hard on the movie in South Africa already and we are so looking forward to working with you all next summer.
Personally, I can wait for [Resident Evil 6](movie:671270), so Congratulations Milla and Paul!
