Ebola is scary enough as it is, without bringing the idea of 'Ebola Zombies' into the mix.

Despite the terrible effects of the disease there are - as far as we know - no zombie side affects.

  Zombies: not caused by Ebola.
Zombies: not caused by Ebola.

The idea of 'Ebola Zombies' has taken root on Chinese internet forums due to lack of information. In fact, Chinese news agency Xinhua 'reassured' people:

An Ebola sufferer may lose consciousness or faint, making him or her appear dead. But a few hours or even days later the patient may suddenly come to and enter an extremely violent state, tearing at and biting anything that moves, including people and animals.

Not the best way to calm down your public, guys.

Another rumor circulating in China is that Ebola can be cured by eating coffee and raw onions, so let's stick to more reliable forms of information regarding public health scares, huh?
