Ant-Man began production yesterday in San Francisco where it will be briefly staged before moving to Atlanta, GA. Marvel has released the first official image of Paul Rudd as Scott Lang shot yesterday, and it isn't much to go by at first glance:
With a hoopty like that, and the Golden Gate Bridge in the background, at first it looks like a a regular normal picture. Except, look a little closer. He is disguised in a hoody, black gloves, and a bag. Looks like he could be ready to be pulling off a heist!
Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.
When asked about the film and his take on the new hero, Rudd had this to say:
"The way technology has advanced just in the last few years, picturing this world, what they can do with this kind of story line and character, I thought this could be something that could be very strange and hasn't been seen before," actor Paul Rudd said to USA Today last month. "I was really excited about being a part of something like that."
That's one thing he has right. The technology is there today to make it look believable and less cheezy that's for sure!
[Ant-Man](movie:9048) is being directed by Peyton Reed and is said to be released July 17, 2015.
