Although filming for 2015's Antman starring Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas started this week, we already get an official look at Marvel's newest movie hero! Take a look!

Lookin' good Paul, lookin' good!

In addition to the new image, which admittedly doesn't tell us much, we did learn that John Slattery will be once again taking up the role of Howard Stark, Tony Stark's inventive father. This new piece of information more than likely confirms that Ant-Man will not merely be a stand-alone movie but will rather tie into the rest of the cinematic hero universe Marvel has created.

Official Synopsis

"Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world."

Admittedly, I'm sure many of us are somewhat skeptical about a shrinking super hero taking on the likeness of an ant. I mean come on! It almost sounds like a cheesy action hero version of Honey I Shrunk the Kids!

Skeptics of the movie might want to reevaluate before they judge the film too quickly. Rudd himself stated that "the way technology has advanced just in the last few years, picturing this world, what they can do with this kind of story line and character, [he] thought this could be something that could be very strange and hasn't been seen before." With the incredible movie technology we now have and talent like Paul Rudd acting as the star, Ant-Man definitely has the potential to surprise us!

The newest hero movie will also star Corey Stoll, Michael Peña, Abby Ryder Fortson, Evangeline Lilly, Judy Greer, David Dastmalchian, Wood Harris, John Slattery, Bobby Cannavale, Gregg Turkington and now...T.I?!?!

Marvel's Ant-man is set to release July 17th, 2015. In the words of director Peyton Reed, “LET’S. GET. small.”
