The Syfy Channel has just announced that they will be premiering their own zombie apocalypse drama by the name of [Z Nation](series:1327829). The new series follows the attempts of a team of apocalypse survivors as they trek across the country from New York to California in an effort to transport the only known survivor of a zombie bite to the last working viral lab left in the US. Nevertheless, "although the antibodies he carries are the world’s last, best hope for a vaccine, he hides a dark secret that threatens them all."

Check out the full trailer below:

Did they...did they just...use the word...ZOMBIE?! Never heard that in Walking Dead!

It does look decent but it admittedly sounds like they ripped off The Last of Us video game when it comes to the main plotline.

Also, did anyone else think that the zombie baby was unnecessarily FREAKY!?

Well, as a die hard [The Walking Dead](series:201193) fan and judging from the trailer, I think that SyFy is going to have to work pretty hard to compete against AMC's Award-Winning The Walking Dead!

SyFy's "Z Nation" is set to premiere September 12 at 10p.m.
