Always just a little late to the pop-culture party, Syfy has released the trailer for its new zombie series, [Z Nation](series:1327829), their (no doubt) CGI-filled version of the dreaded (or not) Zombie Apocalypse. Am I the only one rooting for something to wipe out 80% of the population? Really?

As with [The Walking Dead](series:201193), Z Nation follows a group of everyday heroes, but with a twist - they're attempting to transport the only known survivor of the zombie virus across the country to a waiting research facility (fancy that...). Obviously, things are not as easy as the team would hope, as the band struggles across post-apocalyptic America while the survivor carries a dark secret.

The series stars Harold Perrineau, Tom Everett Scott, DJ Qualls (why is this guy working?), Michael Welch and Kellita Smith.

Several networks are trying to take a bite out of [The Walking Dead](series:201193)'s sizeable franchise pie - Amazon attempted to adapt breakout zomcom “Zombieland” during its first batch of pilots, but that didn't pan all. The CW will be launching[iZombie](series:1169542) mid-season, a series which features an undead heroine who works at the Seattle coroner’s office to feed her craving for grey matter. This all might be a bit much...

[Z Nation](series:1327829) premieres Friday, Sept. 12 on Syfy.

What do YOU think? Are you tired of the zombie outbreak yet?
