31 years ago today, the planet Earth was blessed with the beautiful, talented, butterfly of a man that is Andrew Garfield (yes, I get that it’s weird to refer to him as a butterfly and not a spider but whatever!). When he emerged from his little Andrew Garfield-fly cocoon and popped his head out into the world, he said, “Wow, there sure are a lot of problems around here. I should probably do something about that." And he did.

All jokes aside, not only is Andrew extremely talented and physically beautiful, he also seems like a really great person. Here is a list of some of my favorite things things Andrew Garfield has done thus far in his 30 years on Earth, and why he deserves to have the best birthday ever!

1. He always makes time for his fans...especially the little ones

Andrew isn't just a great Spider-Man, he's a fantastic human being! It's no secret that he really cares about his fans and we've got the GIFs to prove it! Whether he's playing basketball...

Hanging out on set with the mini Spider-Man...

Surfing...

Or just chillin' with babies...

Andrew is just as super in real life as he is on screen.

2. He does a lot for charity

In April of this year the Amazing Andrew helped raise $10,000 for Dr. Jane Aronson and the Worldwide Orphans Foundation by holding a special screening for [The Amazing Spider-Man 2](movie:508593).

On working with the charity Andrew stated:

“There’s a lot of hope in all of us being here, and giving whatever we can to a cause that’s impossible to argue. I’m in awe of what Jane and her team do. I’m sure that if Spider-Man were here, he’d be energised by the work of (Dr. Aronson) and her incredible team.”

He also did work with the London Kids City Charity which provides after school activities for children between the ages of 3 and 11.

But these are far from the only good deeds that Andrew is known for! Many of the other items listed have to do with Andrew working with charities. Scroll down just a tad for even more do-gooding!

3. He's not afraid to tell the paparazzi what's up

On multiple occasions Andrew and (the equally incredible) Emma Stone have been photographed by paparazzi trying to promote issues that really matter.

We have also seen this trend with other celebrities (virtual nod to Benedict Cumberbatch). But none of them have us peeping behind the sign to get a better look at Andrew's amazing beard/hat combo.

Here are the links for some of the charities they are promoting (youthmentoring.org, autismspeaks.org, wwo.org, and gildasclubnyc.org)

4. He stands up for what he believes in

Andrew has long been a supporter of the legalization of gay-marriage. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Andrew, a longtime fan of the Spider-Man comics, posed a question about Spider-Man's sexuality to producer Matt Tolmach.

In an interview about his 2006 starring role in the gay-marriage themed play Beautiful Thing, Andrew posed the question:

"There is no argument against equality. How can anyone argue against compassion and understanding?"

He also went on to star in the heartbreaking music video for Arcade Fire's song "We Exist" about a young man trying to come to terms with, and understand his sexual identity. Although there was some controversy over a straight man playing the role, there's no doubt that Andrew's heart was really in this one.

5. He can sing (kind of)

This might be a bit more up for debate, but in any case his choice of song is awesome!

6. He can dance

Doing more work for the Worldwide Orphans Fund on the Ellen Degeneres Show Andrew busted a move and earned $10,000 for the charity!

Are you kidding me with those dance moves? Is there anything this man can't do?! I've never seen the Gangnam Style dance look so sexy!

7. He's an intellectual

I mean, we already knew he was smart. He did graduate from University of London after all. But for many of us, our post-collegiate years mean that reading in our free time tends to take somewhat of a backseat. Nope. Not the case for Andrew Garfield.

8. He looks like this

Well this one is extremely superficial but C'MON! Look at this face!

I mean, that's just the face he was born with. Like he walks around all day looking like that. How do you do it, Andrew? How did you get to be so perfect?

Cheers to you, Andrew! Have a drink and a slice of cake on us!
