A lot of articles just repeat others, so I decided to dig deep to find old castings of people who were almost superheroes.
Zac Efron As Superman!
Before Henry Cavil was officially cast as Superman in Man Of Steel, Zac Efron was one of the many people who were almost Superman. The way they casted this movie is if any of the actors could wear the original Christopher Reeves suit and not have the staff laugh than you would have been Superman! So lets just thank god that Henry Cavil looks good in the suit or else this guy would have been our man of tomorrow!
Jake Gyllenhaal as Spider-Man!
Jake was actually Spider-Man 2 but sadly (for Gyllenhaal) Tobey was able to recover from a back injury just before filming began for the movie! Jake was almost Batman but he also lost out on that one as Christian Bale snagged the role. Dang! This guy just does not ever catch a break with these superhero roles!
Ryan Gosling as Batman!
Ryan was almost cast as Batman in the running for who was going to play the Caped Crusader in the (at that time) un-named Batman vs. Superman project. So who were the other runner ups? Josh Brolin, Ben Affleck, Jensen Ackles, and Armie Hammer (who was Batman in the never-made Justice League: Mortal)! I'm pretty sure we all know who won the casting for this movie but still I would have loved The Driver to be Batman, I mean can you imagine Batman stomping a guys head until it's a bloody mess in an elevator?
Keanu Reeves as Superman!
Keanu is already Neo and Spike Spiegel, but was he almost Superman? Back when Brett Ratner was still directing Superman Returns and it was called “Superman: Last Son of Krypton” he was asked to take on the cape but turned down the role and stated that he wanted to play Batman instead! I don't hate the guy, I loved Constantine, The Matrix, and I know he will be fantastic in the live-action Cowboy Bebop movie but Superman or Batman? Sorry Keanu, I just don't see it.
