Terminator 5 has finished shooting with Arnold Schwarzenegger, and it has finally revealed it's full title to be Terminator 5: Genisys.
This movie has already generated controversy before it has even been released - and not all fans were even that happy to begin with, having been disappointed by Christian Bale's Terminator 4 Salvation.
Terminator 5 and Arnold Schwarzenegger's Human Flesh
The complaints for this movie, however, centered on the return of Arnold Schwarzenegger. Could a man approaching 70 years old really still play the part of one of the deadliest killing machines ever invented? And if he is a robot, why does he have grey hair?
Schwarzenegger responded to these complaints, saying that he was only a machine underneath. The flesh is human flesh, and:
The Terminator's flesh ages, just like any other human being's flesh. Maybe not as fast. But it definitely ages.
Controversy aside, then, what do we know of the plot of [Terminator Genisys](movie:34872)? Well, as several sources have confirmed, the action of this movie will take place in between the events of the original (and best) two Terminator movies. And as in Terminator 2, there are reportedly two T-800s featured.
One, younger, newer, is controlled by Skynet, and spends a lot of the movie tracking down and killing women named Sarah Connor, looking for the mother of the future rebe leader, John Connor.
The other, played by Schwarzenegger, is activated later is the movie. There are rumors that Terminator 5 could even revisit scenes from the first 2 films.
Emilia Clarke and the Genisys of Sarah Connor
One thing it will be particularly interesting to see is the Terminator 5 Genisys version of Sarah Connor, played by Emilia Clarke. After all, it was the intervening period between the two movies that turned Linda Hamilton's Sarah Connor from this:
A careless, 80s woman who liked hanging out with her friend Ginger and Pugsley the Iguana, to this:
A wiry, AK-wielding warrior woman, ready to take on any killer cyborg robot from the future that happens to come her way.
Given that Terminator 5 focuses on the exact period of this transformation, it will be interesting to see how Emilia Clarke handles the role of Sarah Connor. Giver her experience playing a the ruthless khaleesi and mother of dragons of [Game of Thrones](movie:817617), though, she should be up to the task!
