I could not stop crying. Yes! Me! A 19 year old guy crying, watching a animated show. But that's what the Book Three finale did to me. It ended on such a positive but alarming note.

Lets start with Chapter 12: Into The Void

Korra has a tough decision to make. She wants to save Tenzin and the rest of the airbenders but how can she do it? Every single plan Tonraq, Su Yin, and Lin Beifong come up with does not have a good outcome. Korra decides to give herself up to Zaheer and the Red Lotus in excange for the airbenders.

Knowing that attacking the Red Lotus will doom the rebirth of the Air Nation, Korra makes her decision. “The only plan that will work is for me to give myself up,” she says. “Help me save the airbenders. Then you can worry about saving me.”

So Team Avatar break into 3 groups. Su Yin, Lin, and Tonrak scale the side of the mountain where Korra will meet Zaheer to protect her and get her out of there when the deal is done. Mako, Bolin, and Asami stay in the airship to meet Ghazan to make the exchange for the airbenders. And then you have Korra herself. Mako tells Korra not to give herself up until they have the airbenders.

You would think that Zaheer would gladly give the airbenders over now that Korra has come to him? Well at least he gave over Tenzin. Ming Hua does he dirty deeds again and uses her waterbending to make fake airbenders. When Mako tells Korra, the battle is on. It was great to see Tonraq and Korra fight side by side. Su Yin and Lin fight against the "Third Eye Freak". Su Yin uses the metal garment she was wearing just as P'Li was about to combustion-bend, and covered it around her head. Lets just say, thats it for combustion-benders!

Tonrak in his best efforts could not help Korra and Zaheer throws Tonrak off the side of the mountain. Su Yin and Lin try to save Korra but Zaheer in that moment unlocks the power of weightlessness.

Meanwhile, Ghazan has turned the air temple into a volcanic inferno. Asami, Mako, and Bolin find another way to leave the temple because the main entrance, Ghazan destroyed.

Bolin creates another route to the side of the mountain but the lava flows right into the tunnel he has created. With nowhere to go, Bolin risks his life and learns the art of lava-bending. That's right people! Bolin may not be able to metalbend but now he can lava bend!

Kai rescues Bolin, Mako, Asami, and Tenzin. They all meet up with Tonraq, Lin, and Su to devise a plan on how to save Korra. Kai reveals where the Red Lotus is keeping the airbenders and possibly Korra because he spied on them.

Then we see what Zaheer has in store for korra!

Zaheer Plans to poison Korra into the avatar state and then kill her, making her the final avatar.

So how did we get to the happy ending? Part 2 of my review is coming soon!
