I have stopped watching horror movies because at least 80% of the ones that come out are found footage movies. I saw the commercial from [As Above/So Below](movie:1284983) and I thought that for some reason it looks like [Deliver Us From Evil](movie:739915). Horror movies now are just found footage movies, remakes, or slasher films! I remember when horror movies didn't count on jump scares and actually creeped you out.
I'm not going to say I hate found footage films like every horror fan out there, when done correctly a found footage movie can be extremely creepy like Grave Encounters 1 & 2 which were great horror movies - the first one is probably my favorite horror movies. The same goes for V/H/S and maybe Paranormal Activity - when it first came out, everybody was creeped out by it!
The main point of this article is what horror films need and what Hollywood needs to look at to make horror films creepy again while still making millions and what they need is....creepypastas! Now i'm not one of those creepypasta freaks where all I talk about is creepypasta but I have read a few and they are creepier and better than any horror films! I would love to see a Jeff The Killer movie or a good Slenderman movie (Because The Tall Man sucked and Entity is yet to be released) and a Rake movie could be terrifying! I know that there is a Marble Hornets movie coming out later this year and it could be very good and I myself have tried to write movies that are like creepypastas but I can never finish a script and my ideas could be 10-15 minute short films so now I have 6 horror short film scripts lying around, maybe I could bundle them all together to make a movie like V/H/S or Tales From The Crypt but I don't think anyone would want to watch it.
Which creepypasta do you think would make a good movie?
