In a recent interview with Digital Spy, the Mad Men actor, briefly gave his opinion on the rumors that he could be in the race for the role of Marvel Comics' long discussed Dr. Strange in his big screen turn.
"The funny thing about the internet is that you can have rumors go on about possible jobs and possible things that I had no idea about…maybe...I don't know. You know, it's funny when the internet knows more about you than you do, but…maybe the internet was talking to Marvel, I don't know. (laughs) No, I certainly wasn't approached by (Marvel), but I do like Dr. Strange. He's a very cool, cool character."
Although Hamm sounded like he would be game if approached by Marvel for the role of Stephen Strange, the current front-runner is Joaquin Phoenix (Who met with Marvel earlier this summer). Is Hamm or Phoenix the best fit for the role of Marvel's Master of the Mystic Arts, or would someone else fill the cape better? Other actors whose names have been mentioned for the role include: Matthew Modine, Johnny Depp, Justin Theroux, Hugh Laurie, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jared Leto, Tom Hardy, Patrick Dempsey, Aiden Gillen, and Jim Caviezel.
With rich supporting cast and big, world breaking worthy villains, a Doctor Strange film could be a mystic, CGI filled, dimension spanning affair. Not to mention possible appearances from Brother Voodoo, Damian Hellstrom, and various other Marvel magic characters.
Would you like Hamm as [Doctor Strange](movie:559685) or another actor altogether?
