Blood, sweat, and more blood. This weekend marked the final goodbye to True Blood, and what a ride it's been.
So without further ado; let's recap everything you need to know about how the series tied up its many knots.
(Major spoilers ahead, obviously.)
The series ended with a three year flash forward to a Thanksgiving at a pregnant Sookie's house, with a husband you never see. Clue: it isn't Bill.
Tara and Alcide are killed off, while Sam leaves Bon Temps with Nicole.
Eric + Pam
Having cured themselves of Hep V using Sarah's blood, Eric and Pam's flash forward shows them profiting from New Blood, a strain of Sarah's blood packaged like an energy drink. They're still running Fangtasia, too - and Sarah is a major attraction.
Having been released from a life of vampirism by Bill, Jessica is reunited with Hoyt, and the two quickly rekindle their relationship. They meet with Bill, who asks whether they'll get married, as he never got to see his human daughter tie the knot. They have an unofficial wedding the next day with Jason as best man and Andy conducting.
After a cute as hell reunion with best friend Hoyt at his wedding, the end of True Blood also finds Jason a tamed man. In the penultimate episode, he sleeps next to - but doesn't have sex with - Hoyt's ex Bridget. In the flash forward, they have a brood of kids.
Bill + Sookie
Naturally, the ending to one of the most twisted modern love stories was going to be memorable. Having previously refused a cure for Hep V, Bill begs Sookie to put him out of his misery and use her fairy light to kill him. She refuses, but ultimately they climb into the Compton grave together and she stakes him through the heart.
How's that for romance?
Goodbye True Blood, you beautiful, sexy beast. We salute you.
