Today's look at Hawkeye's new costume for Avengers: Age of Ultron has been met with a seemingly content overall opinion from news sites across the board. This, of course, isn't the first time we've seen this particular outfit (for some reason, everyone forgot all of the shots of the multi-layered outfit from March) but it did serve as a more clear, composed shot of the outfit. For the sake of the cosplayers on this site, here's a roundup of Hawkeye costume shots, and some details on what he might be up to for both [The Avengers: Age Of Ultron](movie:293035) and [Captain America 3](movie:994409) (according to Jeremy Renner himself)!
Jeremy Renner has been pretty vocal about how bummed he is over the lack of actual (non-mind-controlled) Hawkeye thus far in the MCU, but it seems like his gripes may be solved soon enough. In an interview with Collider, Renner slipped a little doozie on us:
There are rumblings of Captain America 3. I don’t know what’s going to happen there. I’ve got to find the time, man (laughs). I’m trying to stay home and I can’t.
SuperheroHype later spoke with directors Anthony and Joe Russo - and what they had to say added fuel to the fire.
“Unfortunately we can’t (comment),” Anthony said, “It’s too specific to what the movie may be.”
Joe did chime in and teased, “There are certainly characters that Cap is close to or has a strong relationship with that would make sense appearing in his films. I think that’s all we can say about it.”
What I can say for sure is that all the leather Hawkeye is wearing (in layers, too! WHAT) serves as a pretty heavy change from his standard sleeveless S.H.I.E.L.D. digs. Check him out sans-coat below.
Hawkeye plays a pretty huge part in the comics when it comes to related pieces of storyline for Avengers 2: Age of Ultron. Much like [Black Widow](movie:1070824), we can probably rest assured that we're going to see more action from Hawkeye as well. To me, this is awesome - Hawkeye, while not being very 'super' or high on people's lists of favorites, is currently enjoying one of the most popular comic book series since his standalone title went under the pen of Matt Fraction in 2013.
Hawkeye is known in the comics for his bad jokes, sass, and groundedness within the Avengers and throughout his circle of friends. I think that seeing more of that Hawkeye in the films will help fans warm up to him more. You can't really blame them; for a hefty chunk of the time that we've seen Clint on-screen, he's sort of been under the control of Loki.
Regardless, it'll be refreshing to see more of Clint and get a better grasp on who he is in the upcoming Avengers film. Here's to Sassy Hawkeye!
Avengers 2: Age of Ultron hits theaters May 1st, 2015.
